Welcome to day 2 of Extra Curricular Clubs week!
Yesterday, we saw Jane and Emma’s gardening and My Science Clubs celebrated and today we have two more.
We’re starting today with Allen and his award winning Coding Club!
Since Allen started his Code Club started in 2016, all children from Year 1 (aged 5) to Year 6 (aged 11) have been welcome. The original intention of Code Club was to enable children who may not have technology at home to be able to practice what they have been learning in Computing
Since September 2023, they’ve started practising e-Sports skills using the Nintendo Digital Switch devices the school received from Digital Schoolhouse. The current club is working with children aged between aged 8 to 11 (Years 4, 5 and 6) and since November, the school has also started hosting a Parents and Carers weekly club too to help families stay safe online.
Allen recently said “There are people who first came to my club when it started in 2016 and will still reminisce with me when they see me in the street about how brilliant their time and opportunity to be part of an extra-curricular club made a big impression on their lives and positive attitudes.”
If you know someone like Allen who goes the EXTRA mile for your school’s EXTRA-curricular club schedule then tag them on one of our social media posts this week or nominate them via email to hello@myscienceclub.com before midnight (GMT) on 8th December 2023 and they will be entered to win a full 12 month membership of My Science Club for your school! Or, if you sign up to our newsletter before midnight on 10th December, you will also be in the hat to win a membership too! Click here for newsletter sign up
Look forward to sharing and hearing from you all this week
